Dhaka: Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi has flatly refused to hand over the Asia Cup trophy to India. Naqvi, who also serves as the chairman of the PCB and the Asian Cricket Council, has ordered Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav to come to the ACC office to receive the trophy.
Earlier, after the Asia Cup final on Sunday night, a major drama erupted when Mohsin Naqvi ran away with the Asia Cup trophy and medals. The Indian team had stated that all players would not accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi amid the deteriorating situation between India and Pakistan and requested the vice-president of the Emirates Cricket Board to hand over the trophy.

However, Naqvi refused this request and remained firm on his stance that India must accept the trophy from him. When players did not ready to take trophy from him, he ran aways with it.
A bizarre scene unfolded when an ACC official was seen taking the trophy from the field while the Indian team was waiting to enter the podium. Late last night, Indian Cricket Board Secretary Devajit Saikia strongly criticized Naqvi's move.
On Tuesday, two days after the Asia Cup final, Pakistani media reported that Mohsin Naqvi rejected BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla's repeated demands to hand over the Asia Cup 2025 trophy. He insisted that the Indian captain should receive the trophy in person.
The issue was raised at the ACC meeting chaired by Naqvi in Dubai, where Vice President Rajeev Shukla, representing the BCCI, proposed returning the trophy. However, Naqvi responded that the issue was not part of the meeting's agenda. Upon further insistence, he said that if the Indian team wanted the trophy, its captain Suryakumar Yadav should personally go to the ACC office to collect it.
India had refused to shake hands in its first match against Pakistan. Following this, Mohsin Naqvi threatened to pull his team out of the tournament. It is unlikely that any Indian delegation will go to the ACC office to receive the trophy and medals, as they refused to do so during the Asia Cup prize-giving ceremony.
