New Delhi: The second Test of the series between India and West Indies began today at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The first day went completely in India's favor. India won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 318 runs for the loss of two wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 173 and Shubman Gill on 20.
The Indian team dominated the first day. Yashasvi Jaiswal performed brilliantly for Team India. He remained unbeaten on a century. Sai Sudarshan also scored a half-century, though he missed out on a century. Several Indian players performed exceptionally well on the first day. However, Jasprit Bumrah broke a major record upon joining the playing XI.

Day 1 of second test series against West Indies, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Shubman Gill's decision proved wise, as the Indian batsmen batted well. Openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on a 58-run partnership for the first wicket. Rahul was dismissed for 38 off 54 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten at the end of the first day's play.
Jaiswal scored 173 runs off 253 balls, while KL Rahul scored 38 runs off 54 balls. Sai Sudarshan scored 87 runs off 165 balls with the help of 12 fours. Gill is also unbeaten on 20 off 68 balls. The Indian team has scored 318 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 90 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah made history by joining India's playing eleven. He became the first fast bowler to play 50 T20, ODI, and Test matches for India.
West Indies batsmen struggled to take wickets on the first day at the Delhi ground. Spinner Jomel Warrican took only two wickets for 60 runs in 20 overs. Jaden Seales conceded 59 runs in 16 overs, and Khary Pierre conceded 74 runs in 20 overs, but did not take any wickets. West Indies bowlers will look to bounce back with a strong performance on the second day.
