New Delhi: India is currently playing the second Test of the two-match series against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. The West Indies made two changes for this match, replacing Johan Lyne and Brandon King with Anderson Phillip and Tevin Imlach.

After losing the first Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium by an innings and 140 runs, the West Indies team wanted to try something new. This begs the question, who is Anderson Phillip?

Anderson Phillip's Cricket Career

Anderson Phillip is a right-arm fast bowler of West Indies from Trinidad and Tobago. He made his Test debut for the West Indies against Bangladesh in 2022. Although he has yet to make a significant impact in international cricket, he has raised hopes with his speed and determination. So far, in his short Test career of three matches, Phillip has taken four wickets at an economy rate of 4.32 runs per over.

Philip also plays One Day Internationals (ODIs). He was first included in the West Indies ODI squad in March 2021 for the series against Sri Lanka, where he made his debut on March 14, 2021.

In ODIs so far, Philip has taken four wickets in five innings. He has not yet played any T20 Internationals, but in domestic T20s, he has taken 10 wickets in 18 innings.

Philip is primarily known for his bowling, but he can also contribute with the bat. In three Test matches, he has scored 74 runs at an average of 24.66, which is quite good for a lower-order player.
