Ahmedabad: Rain can become an obstacle in the final match of RCB vs Punjab, if the match is washed out then who will become the champion? Let us find out the answer together.

The final match of IPL 2025 is to be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This match is also special because both the teams have not won a single IPL title so far and this season IPL will get a new champion. But just before this big match, a big concern has arisen - RAIN.

According to the weather department forecast, there is a possibility of rain in Ahmedabad on June 3, reports Dynamite News correspondent. Earlier, during Qualifier-2 also, rain had caused a lot of trouble, which delayed the toss and the start of the match.

However, later the match was completed without interruption. But now when an important match like the final is ahead, the possibility of rain is once again worrying the fans and the organizers. In view of the situation, BCCI and IPL organizers have taken some precautionary steps.

An additional time of 120 minutes (reserve time) has been fixed for the final so that the match is not affected by the delay due to rain. Apart from this, if the match is not held on June 3, then June 4 has been kept as a reserve day.

But the thing to think about is that if the rain cancels the match on June 4 as well, then what will happen? In such a situation, according to the rules, the team that is on top in the league stage will be declared the champion.

This time both RCB and Punjab Kings have the same points, but Punjab has a better net run rate, due to which they remained in first place. That is, if both the final and reserve day are washed out, then Punjab Kings will be declared the winner.

It is worth noting that a minimum of 5 overs per innings are required to give the result of the match. If there is a shortage of time, the result can also be decided through a super over. The modern facilities and drainage system of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad raise hopes that the match can be held despite the rain. Still, if the weather plays spoilsport, fans could be in for a big shock.

It remains to be seen which team will be lucky - RCB, who have been waiting for the title for 18 years, or Punjab Kings, who have reached the final after 11 years and have a golden opportunity in front of them.
