Rajasthan Royals urges BCCI to fast track Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
New Delhi: Zubin Bharucha, Director of High Performance at Rajasthan Royals, has called on the BCCI and Indian selectors to fast track 14-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi into the men’s senior team, drawing parallels with how Sachin Tendulkar was given an early break decades ago.
“He should be blooded into the senior team immediately, like Sachin was,” Bharucha told the Times of India. He urged that Vaibhav be included at least in the India A tours to gain international exposure.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history as the youngest IPL debutant at just 14 years and 23 days, stunning fans with a six off the very first ball he faced.
He later became the youngest IPL centurion with a blazing 101 runs off 38 balls against Gujarat Titans, the second-fastest century in IPL history. His debut season stats are impressive: 252 runs in 7 matches at a strike rate of 206.56.

Bharucha also highlighted Vaibhav’s ability to take on top-tier bowlers, recalling how he sent Jofra Archer’s deliveries out of the stadium during practice nets, surprising both teammates and coaches.
His youth Test performances are equally noteworthy, with a 78-ball century against Australia U19 and the rare feat of scoring two U19 Test hundreds in under 100 balls.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a phenomenal, record-setting performance during India U19’s tour of England in July 2025.
Blistering 86 off 31 balls: In a rain-hit match, Suryavanshi smashed 86 runs in just 31 deliveries, including nine towering sixes, displaying his explosive batting prowess.
Consistent ODI form: Across the ODI series against England U19, he accumulated 143 runs, underlining his reliability and solid technique.
Historic Youth Test milestone: In the first Youth Test, he fought hard for a 56-run knock in the second innings, becoming the youngest player (under 15) to score a fifty and claim a wicket in the same Youth Test.

Proven all-rounder: Continuing his fine form, Suryavanshi scored 70 runs and picked up two wickets in the second Youth Test, further cementing his reputation as a promising all-rounder.
With such outstanding performances and the backing of RR’s high-performance team, the question now is whether Indian selectors will move quickly to integrate Vaibhav Suryavanshi into the senior national setup- potentially shaping the future of Indian cricket much like Sachin Tendulkar did.
