President confers Padma awards

New Delhi / 28 March 2016. President Pranab Mukherjee presented 5 Padma Vibhushan, 8 Padma Bhushan and 43 Padma Shri awards today at a Civil Investiture Ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Padma Vishushan, the second highest civilian award of the country, was presented to Dhirubhai Hirachand Ambani (Posthumous), Avinash Kamalakar Dixit, Jagmohan, Dr. Yamini Krishnamuthi and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

The Padma Bhushan was conferred upon Hafeez Sorabe Contractor, Dr. Barjinder Singh Hamdard, Anupam Pushkarnath Kher, Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry, Saina Nehwal, Vinod Rai, Dr. Alla Ventaka Rama Rao and Dr. Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy.

 
 
The President also conferred the Padma Shri awards to Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, Madhur R. Bhandarkar, Ajay Devgn, Deepika Kumari and Mohammed Imtiaz Qureshi among others.
