Former IAS officer Anup Chandra Pandey takes charge as new Election Commissioner
Anup Chandra Pandey, a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, took charge as the new Election Commissioner.
New Delhi: Anup Chandra Pandey, a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as the new Election Commissioner.
Pandey, a former Uttar Pradesh chief secretary, is a retired IAS officer of the 1984 batch from Uttar Pradesh cadre.
The Ministry of Law and Justice on Wednesday said President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Anup Chandra Pandey, IAS (Retd.) as the Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India, with effect from the date he assumes the office.
