Udhampur: 102 kg poppy recovered by Police, 2 arrested

Jammu: Two persons were arrested and 102 kgs of poppy allegedly recovered from them in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

A check-point was set up on a highway at Tikri area and during checking, the police party intercepted one oil tanker last evening, an officer said. 

During the search of the vehicle, 102 kg of poppy was recovered, he added.

Two persons - Puran Chand and Sudesh Singh - were arrested, he said.

A case was registered at Rehmbal police station and investigation is on, he said. (PTI)
