Lucknow: Eight Bharatiya Janata Party candidates filed the nomination papers on Tuesday from Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls in Lucknow. 

Dr Laxmikant Vajpayee, Dr Radha Mohan Aggarwal, Surendra Singh Nagar, Baburam Nishad, Darshana Singh, Sangeeta Yadav, Dr K Laxman and Mithilesh Kumar filed their nomination. UP CM Yogi Adityanath was also present. 

Besides CM Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya were among the senior party leaders present on the occasion.

May 31 is the last date for filing nominations for 11 Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh.
