Siddharth Nagar: A temple in Siddharth Nagar in Uttar Pradesh  was 'purified' with 'Gangajal' after a Muslim MLA visited the shrine.

Doomariyaganj MLA Sayeda Khatoon had on Sunday visited the Samay Mata temple at the invitation of the local people to participate in a 'Shatchandi Mahayagya'. After she left, some people not in favour of her visit purified it with 'Gangajal' amid chanting of mantras.

Khatoon was invited by the administration of the Samya Mata temple in Balwa village of Siddharth Nagar district to attend an event on Sunday.

Police said that on Monday, after the Ram Katha, the Chairman of the local panchayat and members of some other Hindu organisations visited the temple, sprinkled 'Gangajal,' recited the Hanuman Chalisa, and shouted slogans against the Domariaganj MLA, the agency added in its report.
