Cataract is a disease that occurs in the eyes. It can greatly affect vision and reduce the quality of life. However, it is a curable disease if treated properly. Considering that cataract is curable, the District Collector Giriyappanavar, realizing the need to diagnose and treat this disease quickly, decided to carry it out on a war footing.
A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye, which normally is clear. It can cause blurry vision, making it difficult to see clearly. Cataracts are common, especially in older adults, and are a leading cause of vision loss worldwide.
Cataract is a curable disease
Cataracts occur when proteins in the eye's lens begin to break down and clump together, causing cloudiness.
Initially, a cataract may not cause noticeable vision changes. As it progresses, symptoms can include blurry or hazy vision, faded colors, difficulty with bright lights and glare, and trouble with night vision.
