New Delhi: Kia has laid out an ambitious roadmap for India at its 2026 CEO Investor Day, confirming plans to significantly expand its vehicle lineup over the next few years. The company aims to introduce 10 models in India by 2030 with a strong focus on electrification 8 of these will be electrified vehicles, including hybrids and EVs.
Focus on Electrification
Kia’s strategy clearly focuses on electrification as the brand plans to introduce a mix of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and fully electric vehicles (EVs). Some of the key upcoming models include the Sorento Hybrid, Carnival Hybrid, and the Syros EV. Alongside expanding its product portfolio, Kia also plans to strengthen its presence across the country by increasing its dealership network to 800 outlets.
Sorento Hybrid: New Three-Row SUV
The upcoming Sorento Hybrid is expected to be a major addition to Kia’s India lineup, positioned above the Seltos as a three-row SUV. It may either carry the Sorento name or be based on it. The SUV is likely to measure around 4.8 meters in length with a wheelbase of approximately 2.8 meters and could feature a hybridized 1.5-litre petrol engine. It is expected to rival other large SUVs in the segment and may be priced at around ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia is also aiming to produce about 50,000 units of this SUV annually for both domestic and export markets.
Carnival Hybrid: Premium MPV Update
Kia is also preparing to introduce a hybrid version of its premium MPV, the Carnival, which has been on sale in India in diesel form since 2024. While India specific details are yet to be revealed but the global version of the Carnival Hybrid uses a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a hybrid system, producing a combined output of 272hp and 367Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a similar setup could be expected for the Indian market.
Syros EV: Affordable Electric Option
On the electric front, Kia is working on the Syros EV, which is expected to be one of its more affordable electric offerings. The model could be priced between ₹15 lakh and ₹20 lakh and will sit below the Carens Clavis EV in the lineup. The Syros EV is likely to share its design and cabin layout with its petrol and diesel counterpart, with some EV specific styling changes. It will be based on the K1 platform, shared with Hyundai’s Inster EV and could offer battery options with a claimed range of up to 369 km.
Localization and Sales Goals
Kia has also confirmed that it will localize production of these upcoming models in India, a move that will help keep costs competitive and support exports. By 2030, the company aims to achieve annual sales of 4.1 lakh units in India and capture a 7.6 percent market share, reflecting its long-term commitment to the market.

With this aggressive push towards hybrid and electric vehicles, Kia is positioning itself strongly for the future of mobility in India. The introduction of models like the Sorento Hybrid, Carnival Hybrid and Syros EV highlights the brand’s intent to cater to a wide range of customers, from premium buyers to those looking for more affordable electric options.
