Kaushambi: Dr. Amit Pal, the District Magistrate, conducted a thorough review of ongoing construction works in municipal councils and town panchayats under the Chief Minister’s Urban Creation Scheme (Mukhyamantri Nagar Srijan Yojana) at the NIC auditorium today.

The review focused on the progress of development activities, including construction of public infrastructure, sanitation facilities, interlocking works, and drainage systems.

Instructions to Accelerate Pending Projects

During the meeting, Dr. Pal expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work in some urban areas. He instructed the executive officers to ensure that all pending construction works are completed by February. Specifically, in the municipal council of Bharwari, 31 projects were found incomplete.

The District Magistrate directed the Junior Engineer to expedite these projects and tasked Additional District Magistrate Shalini Prabhakar with conducting weekly progress reviews to monitor the work closely.

Priority on School Infrastructure

Emphasizing the importance of education infrastructure, the District Magistrate instructed that priority should be given to essential works in schools, such as boundary walls, toilets, and tiling projects. He highlighted that these works must be completed on a priority basis to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for students.

Disciplinary Measures for Non-Performing Officers

In the review of works in Charwa and Paschim Sharira, the District Magistrate observed a lack of interest and slow progress. Consequently, he directed that adverse entries be issued against the executive officers responsible for these areas.

He also reviewed progress under various schemes such as the 15th Finance Commission, Vandan Yojana, Nagrody Yojana, and the Sewerage and Drainage Program, instructing officials to complete all works efficiently and on time while maintaining quality standards.

Focus on Supervision and Quality

Dr. Pal stressed the importance of effective supervision and site visits. He instructed officials to monitor construction activities carefully, take strict action against negligent contractors, and ensure quality measures such as strength testing in interlocking works and proper placement of drain covers to facilitate easy cleaning.

Additionally, he directed that vending zones be established in urban areas to enhance civic infrastructure and organization.
