New Delhi: A heart-wrenching incident has shaken Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh, where three minor sisters allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the ninth floor of a residential building late Tuesday night.
The tragic incident occurred at Bharat City’s B-1 Tower under the jurisdiction of the Tila Mod police station.
According to police officials, the girls jumped from the balcony of their ninth-floor apartment around 2 AM, reportedly holding hands.
Residents of the colony rushed to the spot after hearing a loud sound and immediately informed the police.
The deceased have been identified as Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12). The sisters lived with their parents in flat number 907.
Other family members were present at home at the time of the incident but did not suspect that the girls would take such an extreme step.
Police said the sisters were found in critical condition and were rushed to a government hospital in Loni by ambulance, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The police received information about the incident at around 2:18 AM.
The family is reportedly in deep shock and is currently not in a position to record any statement.
Online Game Angle Under Investigation
Preliminary investigation and media reports suggest that the sisters may have been influenced by a task-based online “love game”, reportedly linked to Korean chat platforms. Police sources said the girls had been playing the game since the COVID-19 period.
Their father, Chetan, who works in online share trading, had allegedly restricted their mobile phone usage and reprimanded them over gaming habits. Investigators are examining whether this led to psychological stress that may have contributed to the incident.
What Is the ‘Korean Love Game’?
The so-called Korean love game is described as an online chat-based activity in which unknown individuals approach users, posing as foreign youths, and gradually build emotional connections.
Players are initially given simple tasks, which reportedly escalate over time, sometimes involving emotional manipulation, intimidation, or threats. Experts warn that such games can have a severe psychological impact on children and teenagers.
Police Continue Probe
Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Alok Priyadarshi stated that initial findings point toward suicide, but all aspects of the case are being thoroughly investigated.
Mobile phones, chat histories, and other digital evidence have been seized for forensic examination to establish the exact sequence of events and possible external influence.
