The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in several districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, while light to moderate rain are expected at some places in western UP, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
According to the Meteorological Department report, Agra recorded the highest rainfall of 15.1 mm this time, which is the highest in western UP. Apart from this, 7.6 mm rain has been recorded in Bareilly, 4 mm in Basti, 5 mm in Ballia, 3.7 mm in Gorakhpur, 2.3 mm in Lucknow and 4.8 mm in Barabanki.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain warning has been issued in the districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh - Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi). There is also a possibility of lightning and heavy thundershowers in these areas. People have been advised to remain alert.
The Meteorological Department said that there are chances of thunder, strong winds and lightning in Hapur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Etah, Hathras, Kasganj, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah and Auraiya districts.
Similarly, light to moderate rain with thundershowers is possible in Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, Bareilly, Moradabad, Rampur, Amroha, Badaun, Sambhal and Meerut.
