New Delhi: Former President of the Indian Youth Congress, BV Srinivas, has launched a scathing attack on the central government over the arrest of the Youth Congress President. In an exclusive interview, he alleged that government agencies and the police are being used to suppress the voice of the opposition. He stated that protesting is a constitutional right in a democracy, and labeling it anti-national is wrong.
Srinivas stated that police action is resorted to whenever the government panics. He alleged that ruling party leaders are not prosecuted, while opposition leaders and workers are immediately booked. He also stated that the party will fight this battle vigorously legally and will not allow the morale of its workers to be broken.
