Maharajganj DM inspects winter arrangements amid severe cold and dense fog; Watch video

Maharajganj: The administration in Maharajganj district is on high alert as severe cold and dense fog grip the region. In a proactive move, District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma visited Farenda to inspect arrangements made to protect residents from the harsh winter.

During his inspection, the DM visited multiple locations in Anandnagar municipal area where bonfires have been set up. He checked whether the fires were properly maintained and reaching those in need. Santosh Kumar Sharma also interacted with pedestrians, laborers, and people living outdoors to assess the effectiveness of the arrangements. He instructed officials to ensure that the bonfire facilities remain operational throughout the night without any lapses.

The DM also inspected the local night shelter, reviewing facilities such as blankets, beds, drinking water, lighting, and cleanliness. He emphasized that the shelter should operate at full capacity during the winter to ensure no one is forced to sleep outdoors.

Further, the DM visited Farenda railway station to check winter arrangements for travelers and the homeless. Officials were directed to enhance bonfire setups, lighting, and sanitation at the station. Blankets were distributed to those in need.

Santosh Kumar Sharma instructed all officials to continuously monitor winter arrangements to provide maximum relief to the public.

Officials accompanying the DM included SDM Farenda Shailendra Kumar Gautam, Tehsildar Vashishth Verma, Naib Tehsildar Ankit Agarwal, Area Officer Basant Singh, Station House Officer Yogendra Rai, Lekhpal Ashish Singh, and other staff.
