India’s radar-feature electric crossover hits the roads
New Delhi: Indian electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive has begun deliveries of its new and highly anticipated electric bike, the X47 Crossover. It is the world's first electric bike to feature radar-based rider assistance. The Bengaluru-based company, previously known for its performance-focused F77 bike, is now entering the larger electric mobility segment with the X47.
The company has introduced the X47 in four variants—Original, Original+, Recon, and Recon+. They are priced between Rs 2.49 lakh and Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Original and Original+ feature a 7.1 kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 211 km.
The Recon and Recon+ variants feature a larger 10.3 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of up to 323 km.
The company stated that the X47 received over 3,000 bookings in the first 24 hours, demonstrating customer enthusiasm.
In terms of design, the X47 is a rugged and adventurous electric bike. It features a wide handlebar, a cast aluminum subframe, and 200 mm of ground clearance, making it comfortable to ride in cities as well as on mild off-road trails.
It is powered by a synchronous electric motor that produces 30 kW (approximately 40 horsepower) of power and 610 Nm of torque. The bike accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds, with a top speed of 145 km/h.
With 170 mm of suspension travel on both sides and an 820 mm seat height, this bike offers a comfortable and sporty riding experience.
The X47's most notable feature is its radar-based safety system. This system alerts the rider to traffic movement in front and behind, reducing the risk of accidents.
In addition, the bike includes several advanced features:
The bike features a 5-inch full-color TFT display, which offers Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and live diagnostics. Top variants also feature a dual dash camera system and Sony sensors, allowing riders to record their journey.
