JD(U) has expelled 12 senior leaders for six years over alleged betrayal during Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The action, based on a probe report, signals the party’s zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and anti-party activities.
A Strict Stance on Discipline in the Organization
Patna: Bihar's ruling party, Janata Dal (United), has taken a major and strict decision, giving top priority to organizational discipline. The party leadership has made it clear that there is no place in the JDU for those who act against the coalition dharma and the party line. Under this policy, the party has expelled 12 prominent leaders for six years.
All these leaders are facing serious allegations of working against the official candidates of the party and the alliance during the Bihar Assembly general elections in 2025.
The party believes that internal factionalism and sabotage during crucial times like elections cause immense damage to the organization. Such acts not only tarnish the party's image but also raise questions about the unity of the alliance.
Taking the complaints of sabotage seriously, the JDU constituted a three-member investigation committee. This committee investigated the complaints received from various districts, took statements from the concerned leaders, and evaluated the facts.
After the completion of the investigation, the committee submitted its report to the party leadership, in which several leaders were found guilty.

Based on the investigation committee's report, JDU State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha issued the expulsion order. The official letter clearly states that these leaders are being expelled from the party for six years.
The State President's signature on the letter indicates that this decision was taken entirely under organizational consensus and discipline.
The expelled leaders include former MLAs, former district presidents, and district and block-level office bearers. Action has been taken against leaders associated with districts like Aurangabad, Saharsa, Siwan, Jehanabad, Darbhanga, and Gaya.
This makes it clear that the party did not consider any particular region or position but rather based its decision on the seriousness of the allegations.
This action by the JDU is being seen as a strong message within the organization. The party has made it clear that indiscipline, factionalism, and sabotage during elections will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

This move is considered crucial in preventing such acts in the future and strengthening the organization.
This post-election "clean-up" indicates that the JDU is now formulating a new strategy. The party leadership wants the organization to be more united, stronger, and disciplined as it engages with the public in the future.
