Bihar Government tightens land registry, mutation processes for faster service

Patna: To address problems like delays, bureaucratic hurdles, and corruption in land-related matters in Bihar, the government has issued new guidelines. Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha stated in a departmental review meeting that the land mutation process will now be completed within a fixed timeframe. He warned officials that action would be taken in case of any negligence.

Sinha appealed to the public to apply for registration within 90 days. He said that the government's new system would save people from the old hassles of visiting police stations and courts, and land-related work would be completed easily and quickly.

Improvements in E-Measurement and Digital Recording

Important decisions were also taken regarding the e-measurement system during the meeting. The minister said that a standard format would now be mandatory. This will bring uniformity and transparency in reporting and documentation. This step will prove to be a milestone in digital survey and record updates.

Sinha explained that the new process will reduce delays in land-related work, decrease the possibility of corruption, and make government work more accountable. This decision will bring modernity and reliability to Bihar's land management system.

The meeting also discussed the historical fairs held in various districts of the state. Sinha said that these fairs are connected to Bihar's cultural heritage, folk traditions, and revenue system. Detailed reports will now be sought from the districts on the utility, history, and future potential of these fairs. The government's objective is not only to preserve them but also to strengthen them in terms of public interest and revenue.

Sinha gave clear instructions to the officials that immediate action should be taken on public complaints and that no laxity or negligence would be tolerated. He said that transparency and accountability would now be ensured in every land-related work.
