Albinder Dhindsa, Blinkit founder, is now Eternal’s Group CEO as Deepinder Goyal steps down to chase high-risk ventures. How will “Albi” steer Zomato and Blinkit amid rising competition in India’s fast-growing delivery space?
Meet new CEO of Eternal, parent company of Zomato & Blinkit
New Delhi: Albinder Dhindsa, founder and CEO of Blinkit, has been appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Eternal Limited, formerly Zomato Ltd, effective February 1, 2026. The move follows the resignation of Deepinder Goyal from the CEO position, who will now serve as Vice Chairman of the board.
The announcement coincided with Eternal reporting a net profit of ₹102 crore for Q3 FY26, up 73% year-on-year. Goyal, in a letter to shareholders, explained that the shift allows him to pursue high-risk ventures outside the constraints of a publicly listed company, while operational control and group leadership will now rest with Dhindsa.

Often referred to as “Albi” within the organisation, Dhindsa will oversee all operations across the Eternal group, including Zomato’s core food delivery business and Blinkit’s quick-commerce operations. His appointment underscores Blinkit’s growing strategic importance within the group and its role as a primary growth driver.

The board’s decision reflects strong confidence in Dhindsa’s leadership, particularly after he successfully integrated Blinkit post-acquisition in 2022, despite initial challenges. Under his guidance, Blinkit has emerged as one of Eternal’s most valuable growth engines.
Dhindsa co-founded Blinkit, then known as Grofers, in 2013. In 2021, he led the company’s pivot to 10-minute grocery delivery, establishing Blinkit as a leader in India’s fast-growing quick-commerce segment. Before starting Blinkit, he worked at Zomato as Head of International Expansion.
An alumnus of IIT Delhi with a degree in civil engineering, Dhindsa later attended Columbia Business School, where he gained exposure to global business strategy and entrepreneurship. During this time, he also worked briefly as an associate at UBS Investment Bank, building early expertise in finance and corporate strategy.

Dhindsa’s rise comes after overcoming early post-acquisition integration hurdles at Blinkit. Despite being asked to step down twice by Goyal, he stabilised the business and positioned it as a core growth engine for Eternal.
With a combination of startup experience, operational execution, and strategic grounding, Dhindsa now takes the helm at Eternal Ltd at a time when competition in India’s food delivery and quick-commerce sectors is intensifying.
