Delhi police’s ‘Operation Kavach 13.0’ cracks down on crime; 452 arrested, massive seizures in 48-hour sweep

New Delhi: In a major crackdown, the Delhi Police Central District carried out a 48-hour intensive operation under ‘Operation Kavach 13.0’, resulting in 452 arrests and widespread action against criminal networks.

The operation, conducted from 6:00 PM on March 29 to 6:00 PM on March 31, aimed to dismantle activities linked to narcotics trafficking, illicit liquor trade, illegal arms possession, gambling, and other anti-social elements across the district.

Led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh, the operation saw the participation of all 15 police stations, a Cyber Police Station, and specialized units including the Special Staff, Anti-Narcotics Cell, AATS, and Technical Surveillance Units.

A total of 110 teams were deployed, carrying out 283 targeted raids across identified hotspots such as slum clusters, industrial zones, liquor supply routes, suspected hideouts, and high-crime areas. The operation combined human intelligence with technical surveillance, ensuring real-time coordination and swift execution.

During the drive, 452 individuals were arrested and 1,930 detained, while 469 traffic challans were issued.

Significant action was taken under the NDPS Act, with 37 cases registered and 59 individuals apprehended. Police seized 14.62 kg of ganja, 0.306 kg of heroin, and 0.633 kg of smack, along with foil pipes and cash.

In addition, 13 cases related to illicit liquor led to the seizure of 996 bottles. Action against illegal arms resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals, with recoveries including knives, pistols, and live cartridges.

Crackdowns on gambling saw 41 people apprehended and cash seized, while vehicle theft cases led to the recovery of five vehicles and the arrest of four. Police also arrested four proclaimed offenders and took 200 individuals into custody under preventive sections.

The large-scale operation reflects a coordinated and aggressive effort by Delhi
