Philadelphia: A 28-year-old Indian man from Telangana was shot dead in Philadelphia after being allegedly lured to a vacant property through a fake pizza delivery order, his family has claimed.

The victim, identified as Anshul Kuncha, had been living in the United States for nearly four years.

‘It was a trap to kill him,’ says sister

His sister, Tanvi, alleged that the incident was premeditated and described it as a deliberate setup.

“It was a trap, meant solely to kill him,” she said. “He was told to deliver pizza in an abandoned area, but we later learned it was a decoy. There was no one there.”

She further alleged that her brother was misled to the location and then shot dead. “We do not know what they gained or what their intentions were. They took my brother and killed him,” she said.

Emotional appeal to families in India

In an emotional statement, Tanvi urged parents in India to reconsider sending their children abroad.

“My brother was a very loving and joyful person. He had no real reason to go to the US, but we sent him anyway,” she said. “Do not send your children to the US.”

Family seeks repatriation of body

The family has also appealed for the swift return of his mortal remains to India.

“Our only request is that his body be brought back to India as early as possible,” she said, adding that the family is awaiting further clarity on the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Authorities in the United States have not yet released an official detailed account of the incident.
