Mainpuri: The number of road accidents in Mainpuri is continuously increasing. A wave of mourning ran in the Bewar police station area of ​​the district when Sub-Inspector (SI) Rakesh Gautam posted in the police station died in a road accident, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

This accident occurred when he came to prepare a map of the spot for the investigation of a previous road accident.

High Speed Car Hits Him

The incident happened around 2 pm. According to the information, SI Rakesh Gautam posted in Halka number two had gone out to investigate and prepare a map of an old road accident near village Dahed on Farrukhabad Road. At the same time, a car coming at high speed from behind hit him hard.

Death Before Reaching Hospital

The collision was so severe that SI Rakesh Gautam was dragged for about 20 meters along with the bike, causing serious injuries to him. He was immediately brought to CHC Bewar, where doctors declared him dead. As soon as the information about the incident was received, there was a stir in the police department.

Police Reached The Hospital

Fellow policemen and senior officers reached the hospital and confirmed the incident and informed the family members. At the same time, SP Ganesh Prasad Saha and SP City Arun Kumar Singh along with the force of all the police stations are present in the district hospital. The deceased has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem and his family members are being informed and called.

Accused Arrested

The deceased Inspector Rakesh Gautam (age 55 years) was a native of Lalgarhi village of Thana Sadabad district Hathras. He was currently living with his family in Awas Vikas Colony, Agra. The police have arrested the car driver who caused this accident. The car has been identified in the name of retired inspector Ajay Pal Singh, resident of village Mataina, which comes under the same police station area.

The vehicle has also been taken into custody and further legal proceedings are underway.
