Maitri Bridge was the main bridge connecting Nepal and China. This bridge built on Bhotekoshi river connected Rasuwa district of Nepal to China. However, due to heavy rains, flood conditions arose in Bhotekoshi river. The bridge also got washed away in the flood at around 3:15 last night.
18 people missing
This bridge, which is just 120 km from Nepal's capital Kathmandu, was washed away by the strong currents along with 18 people. These include 12 Nepalese and 6 Chinese citizens. According to officials, all 18 people are still missing and are being searched for.
