Hindu temple targeted in Australia
New Delhi: A large Hindu temple in Melbourne, Australia has been targeted by racial hatred. Hateful slogans and abusive words were written on the walls of the Shri Swaminarayan temple, including abusive words like "go home" and "brown".

Racist slogans were also found written apart from the temple
Police have confirmed that the incident took place on July 21 in Melbourne's Boronia area. Apart from the temple, the same racial slogans were also written on the walls of two nearby Asian restaurants.
These attacks have simultaneously given rise to fear and anger among the local people. Police said that four such incidents are being investigated in Boronia and Bayswater.
'Attack on our faith and culture'
Makarand Bhagwat, president of the Victoria chapter of the Hindu Council of Australia, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said, "Our temple is a symbol of peace, devotion and unity. It is extremely sad to desecrate it with hateful words. This is an attack on our faith and culture."
Victoria's Premier Jacinta Allen has also strongly condemned the attack. She described it as "hateful and deeply disturbing".
In her statement, she said, "This was not just vandalism, but a well-planned racial attack. Its purpose was to spread fear and isolate people. There is no place for such hatred in Victoria."
