Katra: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the saying 'from Kashmir to Kanyakumari' has become a reality in rail network also. He said that Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line is a symbol of new, empowered J&K and resounding proclamation of India's growing strength, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
PM Modi was addressing a rally on Friday here in Katra after dedicating the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project to the Nation by flagging off the Vande Bharat train to Srinagar from Katra railway station in Reasi district.
Modi was accompanied by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
In his address PM Modi said that Chenab, Anji bridges will serve as gateways to prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir and ensure all-weather connectivity and the Vande Bharat trains from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar will boost spiritual tourism and create livelihood opportunities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that key infrastructure projects worth Rs 46,000 crores, which are being inaugurated, will have a positive impact on people's lives.
"6th June is indeed a special day for my sisters and brothers of Jammu and Kashmir. Key infrastructure projects worth Rs 46,000 crores are being inaugurated, which will have a very positive impact on people's lives. The Prime Minister further said In addition to being an extraordinary feat of architecture, the Chenab Rail Bridge will improve connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar. The Anji Bridge stands tall as India's first cable-stayed rail bridge in a challenging terrain," PM Modi posted on X.
The 272 km-long USBRL project, built with around Rs 43,780 crore includes 36 tunnels (spanning 119 km) and 943 bridges. The project establishes all-weather, seamless rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country aiming to transform regional mobility and driving socio-economic integration.
This is the first visit of the Prime Minister to J&K during ongoing Operation Sindoor and post April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and a local were killed.
