Rajnath Singh said Operation Sindoor is not over yet
New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday issued a firm warning to India’s “neighbour,” cautioning that any hostile move in the current volatile global situation would invite an “unprecedented and decisive” response.
Speaking at a Sainik Samman Sammelan in Kerala, Singh did not name the country directly, but his remarks are widely seen as aimed at Pakistan. He added that India remains fully alert and prepared amid rising geopolitical tensions.

The minister’s statement comes against the backdrop of an intensifying conflict in West Asia following strikes involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Singh noted that the evolving global situation could create opportunities for adversaries to act recklessly, but asserted that India is ready to respond firmly to any provocation.
Referring to past military action, Singh said Operation Sindoor is “not over yet,” indicating continued vigilance.
The operation was launched in response to a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where civilians were targeted. Indian forces subsequently struck terror infrastructure across the border, leading to a brief but intense military confrontation.
Highlighting India’s preparedness, the minister said the Indian Navy is actively escorting oil tankers through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz.
He dismissed rumours of fuel shortages, assuring that there is no scarcity of petrol, diesel, or cooking gas in the country. “India is fully prepared to handle any energy-related challenges,” he said.
Singh also addressed concerns about the safety of Indian citizens, particularly those from Kerala working in Gulf nations. He stressed that the government is closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary steps to ensure their protection.
Taking a swipe at opposition parties, Singh criticised what he described as “petty politics” during a time of international crisis. He urged unity and responsible conduct, emphasising that national security should remain above political differences.
