The proposed seat-sharing arrangement between AIADMK and BJP for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections has been finalised. AIADMK is set to contest 163 seats, while BJP will field candidates in 31 constituencies. Several alliance partners have also been allocated seats.

Chennai/New Delhi: The proposed seat-sharing formula between the AIADMK and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections has been revealed. Seats have also been allocated to various alliance partners.
According to the proposal, the AIADMK has been allocated a total of 163 seats, including one to Puratchi Bharatam, which will contest on the "Two Leaves" symbol. In addition, 40 seats will be contested on the "Lotus" symbol.
The BJP has been allocated 31 seats, along with two to the Puthiya Neethi Katchi, two to the IJK, one to the Forward Bloc, one to the Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi, two to the TMMK, and two to the Puthiya Tamizhagam.
The alliance has allocated 9 seats to the AMMK (pressure cooker symbol), 4 to the TMK (independent symbol), and 17 to the PMK (mango symbol).
According to sources, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who is currently camping in Delhi, finalized the seat sharing. It is reported that this decision was made in the presence of Amit Shah.
This seat sharing is likely to create a new equation in Tamil Nadu politics. All parties are now busy finalizing their election strategies, and candidates may be announced soon.
