Bengal: Collision between truck and Scorpio in Medinipur; 4 killed

Kolkata: As many as four people were killed in a horrific road accident today on Kharagpur-Baleshwar National Highway 16 here in West Medinipur. The accident happened when a goods-laden truck and a Scorpio collided face to face, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Scorpio Blown Into Pieces

According to the police, this accident happened in Ranisarai area of ​​Belda police station area. Some of the eyewitnesses said that the collision was so strong that the Scorpio overturned and was blown to pieces killing 4 people including the driver on the spot. Police reached the spot as soon as the information was received.

All the victims were in the Scorpio and the residents of Asansol in West Burdman. Only one occupant has been identified as Atanu Guha. All the victims were taken to Belda hospital where medics declared all dead.

Eyewitnesses Account

Local people said that the Scorpio was coming very fast. Suddenly it went to the wrong side across the divider. From where the truck was coming. There was such a tremendous collision between the two that the people on board died on the spot.

At the same time, the car was badly damaged. People nearby informed the police about the road accident. After which the police went to the spot and took all the bodies in their custody and sent them for post-mortem.

Bodies To Belda Hospital

Police reached the spot and started rescue operation. All the four bodies were sent to Belda Hospital. Along with this, their families were informed about the accident. No one survived this road accident.

There is a shock wave in the whole area and the kins of the deceased cries are tearing the hearts.

The police is investigating the matter and is trying to find the real reason behind this.
