India’s 3-day ops met all targets, ceasefire was planned: CDS. Read more on Dynamite News

New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan stated that India successfully accomplished all its military objectives within three days of operations against Pakistan, emphasizing that the subsequent cessation of hostilities was a pre-planned strategic decision, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue, Gen. Chauhan clarified that India’s actions—including targeted strikes on terrorist hideouts—were meticulously calibrated to achieve specific goals without escalating into full-scale conflict.
"Stopping military action was always part of our strategy. Our aim was to demonstrate resolve while prioritizing India’s long-term focus on economic and social development," he said.
And there is a kind of message that is being tried to be given at the world forum right now—the way this action was carried out completely, and along with that, the ceasefire that was already in place was also a part of our strategy. This was decided beforehand, and the way the military activities took place or the military action was carried out—it was a part of a strategy.
The targets were decided beforehand—whether it was to destroy the terrorist hideouts or to create military pressure, to create a kind of pressure. And along with this, a message has to be given at the international level; messaging has to be done. India has always shown that whenever there is talk of war, whenever decisions related to war are taken, India is known for its non-alignment.
In such a situation, India's goal has been about economic and social development. It has been about education and health reforms. But Pakistan's attitude has been exactly opposite to this.
So if you understand the meaning of what has been said by the CDS, if you understand it accurately, then it is that we had already made a strategy—for how many days will this action continue? If there is no response, then where will we stop?
And this is the reason why Dr. Jaishankar himself said that we destroyed their terrorist hideouts, and we gave them a clear message that we are working in this way. We have not taken action on any normal hideout—these were terrorist hideouts, which we targeted.
But if Pakistan had retaliated, then we had no option but to retaliate. We retaliated and also made it clear that the ceasefire that was announced was also a part of our strategy—we were already prepared for it.
So the simple thing is that the essence of the things said by the CDS in this entire Shangri-La Dialogue is that India never wants war. But if someone uses force, then India will not sit quietly.
This message has been given not only on the global platform but also to those in the country who were asking questions about the ceasefire—that this is also a part of our strategy.
