Ramban: A devastating cloudburst has caused widespread destruction in Ramban. Dynamite News correspondent brings you an exclusive report from ground zero, where our cameras have captured the aftermath of this natural disaster.
Heavy rains triggered massive landslides, completely blocking several roads. Many vehicles remain trapped under debris, leaving passengers stranded.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the 20th April brought unimaginable devastation to the people of Ramban. The visuals we showed you yesterday were just the beginning—today, the second day after the cloudburst, reveals even more severe damage. The continuous footage highlights the scale of nature’s fury in this region.
The images from the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway show relentless efforts to clear the roads.
In a heartbreaking scene, a newlywed couple, returning after their marriage, found themselves caught in this chaos. They are now struggling to reach their homes. The water flow remains strong, making rescue operations very difficult for the authorities.
NHAI teams are working around the clock, deploying JCBs to reopen the highway. As far as the eye can see, there’s only devastation—collapsed roads, buried vehicles, and frantic rescue efforts.
The entire stretch near the ancient Shiv Temple has been washed away. Houses and vehicles along the riverbank have been completely destroyed.
The administration’s top priority is restoring the highway, as it serves as the lifeline for Jammu and Kashmir. With Mughal Road already closed, this is the only functional route that must be reopened urgently.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is expected to visit soon.
The Deputy Commissioner had already assessed the situation yesterday. Rescue teams have saved 90 people so far, but tragically, three lives have been lost. The situation remains critical, with long traffic jams and ongoing relief operations."
A storm has struck Sataini in the Udhampur district for the first time in four to five years, causing significant damage. Strong winds and heavy rain have uprooted many trees, disrupting traffic and completely cutting off the power supply.
