Delhi Braces for Intense Heat on Friday (Image: Internet)
New Delhi: Residents of Delhi are expected to face another extremely hot day on Friday, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 42 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is forecast to remain around 35 degrees Celsius, offering little relief from the prevailing heat. Weather conditions indicate that temperatures will stay close to 35 degrees Celsius for much of the day before rising sharply during the afternoon.
Wind conditions are expected to remain mild, with an average speed of around 4.67 metres per second. Winds will blow from the west-southwest at approximately 257 degrees, while gusts could reach up to 6.6 metres per second. Despite the breeze, the overall weather is unlikely to provide significant respite from the intense heat.
The sun is scheduled to rise at 5:24 AM and set at 7:22 PM, resulting in extended daylight hours that could further contribute to rising daytime temperatures.
The seven-day forecast suggests that the heat will intensify over the weekend. Temperatures are expected to peak at 45 degrees Celsius on both Saturday and Sunday. The mercury is then likely to ease slightly, reaching 44 degrees Celsius on Monday, followed by 43 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to settle around 42 degrees Celsius.
With consistently high temperatures forecast throughout the week, residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
