New Delhi: Indian Railways has taken a major initiative to provide relief to passengers in the festive season. The passengers will be given a discount of 20% on the return journey under the 'Round Trip Package Scheme.' This offer will be especially applicable on the occasion of Diwali 2025 and is being launched on a practical basis in the first phase. According to the information received from the railway, this scheme will start on 14 August 2025.
Key things of the scheme
1. Benefits of Rebate
Only a 20% discount will be given on the return ticket booked through the connecting journey feature. This discount will be applicable only to confirmed tickets, not on RAC or waiting tickets.
2. Travel dates
First Travel: On 13 October 2025 to 26 October 2025, you have to book.
Return Travel: You have to book between 17 November 2025 and 1 December 2025.
3. Eligibility Terms
Both tickets (go and return) should be in the same passenger's name.
Both tickets should be in the same class (e.g., SL, 3AC, 2AC).
If the first ticket is booked from the counter, then the return ticket will also have to be booked from the counter itself. Similarly, if the first ticket is booked from the IRCTC website/app, then the return ticket will also have to be taken from the IRCTC platform.
