It is important to pay attention to the amount of urine

Let us tell you that the kidney cleans our body. It removes all the dirt from our body through urine. That is why when doctors estimate the health of the kidney, they often pay attention to the amount of urine. This is especially important when someone has an injury, infection or there is a lack of water in the body.

Many researches show that a healthy person should have about 0.5 to 1 ml of urine every hour according to his weight. For example, if your weight is 60 kg, then your urine should be 30 to 60 ml in 1 hour. If your quantity is around this, then it is a sign of proper functioning of the kidney.

How to check the amount of urine at home?

You can choose any 10 hours of the day when you can collect urine without any interruption.

Take a clean one-litre bottle on which there are markings to check the quantity.

For the next 10 hours, whatever urine you pass, collect it in this bottle only.

After the completion of 10 hours, check the amount of urine collected in the bottle.

If your weight is 60 kg, then 300 to 600 ml of urine in 10 hours is considered normal.

If your weight is different, then you can estimate the quantity according to your weight.

If you have diabetes, high blood pressure or a habit of taking more painkillers, then you can do this test once or twice a month.
This method can give an early indication of your kidney health.

What does less urine mean?
Now you must be thinking that if the amount of urine remains less, then what will happen? So let us tell you that this simply means that your kidney is not working properly. There can be many reasons behind this. Like lack of water in the body, lack of blood flow or initial kidney damage.

These are the symptoms
Low urine is a special symptom of acute kidney injury. If this is happening continuously then it should be taken seriously. Apart from this, some other symptoms are also seen -

Swelling in the feet, ankles or face

Feeling tired or weak

Foamy or dark urine

Nausea or difficulty in concentrating

Although keeping an eye on the amount of urine is a good method, it cannot replace medical tests. If the amount of urine is repeatedly increasing or decreasing, or there is swelling in the body, fatigue or the color of urine is changing, then in such a situation you should immediately consult a doctor.
