FIR Registered Against Influencer For Addressing Mayawati As 'Mummy
Ghaziabad: BSP supremo, who has been defunct in mainstream politics, has become a part of a political controversy in Uttar Pradesh, in which a social media influencer has been accused of insulting Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Chief Minister Mayawati.
In fact, a popular Ghaziabad influencer, Prakash Kumar, who is known by his online name 'Punit Superstar,' made a video. In this video, he put up a picture of Mayawati and repeatedly addressed her as 'mummy-mummy.'
This video went viral on social media, causing great anger among BSP workers and Mayawati's supporters. They called it a public insult of the party leader. Due to this resentment and pressure, Ghaziabad District President of BSP Narendra Mohit lodged a complaint with the police.
The complaint said that Puneet has deliberately worked to spoil the social harmony and used abusive language against a respected leader. On the basis of this complaint, an FIR has been registered against the influencer at the Shalimar Garden police station in Ghaziabad.

The FIR was registered under Section 66E of the IT Act, 2000 (which deals with violating a person's privacy or using a person's image without consent) and Section 356(1) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) (which deals with intentionally using abusive language with intent to insult or intimidate a person).
Seeing the controversy grow, Puneet released an apology video on his Instagram account (where he has over 10.8 million followers).
He folded his hands and said that he did not intend to hurt anyone's sentiments. He said, "If my video has hurt anyone's sentiments, I apologize and will not repeat such a mistake in the future." He also said 'Jai Shri Ram' in his defense.
In short, this case shows how even a small or careless comment made on social media can have serious legal and social consequences, especially when it targets a major political personality. Now it will depend on the legal process what happens next.
