Delhi Weather Shift: After Rain Relief, City Heads Toward 40°C Heat
New Delhi: Delhi residents started their Wednesday on a comfortable note, with clear skies, gentle sunshine and a cool temperature of around 22°C. The morning brought a sense of relief, especially after the recent spell of rain that had kept the weather relatively mild.
Despite the pleasant start, the day is expected to get much hotter. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures are likely to rise sharply and may touch close to 40°C. This marks the beginning of a stronger summer phase in the national capital.
The rising trend in temperature was already visible on Tuesday. Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2°C at Safdarjung, showing that heat levels are steadily increasing across different parts of the city.
. Palam recorded 37.6°C
. Lodhi Road saw 38.1°C
. Ridge was the hottest at 39.5°C
. Ayanagar recorded 37.8°C
In most of these locations, temperatures were higher than the usual average for this time of year.
While daytime temperatures are climbing, nights remain relatively cooler. Minimum temperatures across the city stayed below normal:
. Safdarjung: 18.2°C
.Palam: 20.4°C
. Lodhi Road: 17.6°C
. Ridge: 19.6°C
. Ayanagar: 18.1°C
This slight dip in nighttime temperatures is providing some temporary comfort to residents.
The IMD has warned that after weeks of pleasant weather, Delhi is now heading towards a hotter phase. With temperatures expected to cross the 40°C mark soon, residents should prepare for typical summer conditions in the coming days.
