Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya and DGCA Sign MoU to Transform Indian Aviation Sector

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya and DGCA signed an MoU to boost India’s aviation sector through skill develoment, sustainability, and innovation. The collaboration aims to strengthen self-reliance, support future growth, and position India as a global aviation leader by 2047.

New Delhi: In a landmark event held at Saket Hall, Rail Bhawan, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya and Directorate General of Civil Aviation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening India’s civil aviation sector. The event was attended by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Focus on Sustainable Aviation

Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu highlighted the transformative potential of this collaboration, stating that the MoU will revolutionize the aviation sector. “Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya is helping us establish sustainable aviation fuel and explore multiple pathways for its development in the sector,” he said.

Vision for 2047 and Growth Outlook

He also emphasized India’s ambitious vision for 2047. “By 2047, we aim to become a developed nation, and for that, we must be Atmanirbhar,” he noted, underlining the importance of self-reliance in aviation and related technologies. Highlighting the rapid growth of Indian civil aviation, the minister added, “The sector is growing at 10–12% annually and will continue to expand over the next 15 years. No other country comes close to such numbers.”

Role in Skill Development and Industry Collaboration

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw praised the university for its role in skill development and industry collaboration. “We needed an institute like Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya dedicated to logistics and transport,” he said. “For Airbus, 40 students have already been enrolled at the university for civil aviation programs.”

Expanding Contributions Across Sectors

Minister Vaishnaw further emphasized the institute’s contribution beyond aviation and railways. “Apart from Railways and Civil Aviation, the institute has extensively supported the Defence Forces. Now, I dream it will also be of greater use to our Marine sector,” he stated.
