Three people have also lost their lives in rain-related incidents in these states.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to very heavy rains in many states for the next two days. These include Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. The department says that people in these areas need to be alert, as the intensity of rain may increase further in the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has started retreating from parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana. This is an indication that autumn is now beginning in some areas.
Uttarakhand cloudburst triggers chaos across state
The weather in Delhi will be relatively calm today. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will remain partly cloudy. Similar weather is likely to continue till September 19. During this time the minimum temperature can be 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature can be around 35 degrees Celsius.
The weather has changed in Uttar Pradesh. Eastern Uttar Pradesh may receive heavy to very heavy rains for the next two days. After this, the intensity of rain is expected to decrease. On September 17, heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms may occur in some places in western UP and many areas of eastern UP.
Weather change has been observed in Bihar too. Light rain has been recorded in various parts of the state today. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain for the next two days, which may increase problems like waterlogging and traffic.
