Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Srinagar

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar on Thursday, marking his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since the launch of Operation Sindoor.

The visit comes in the wake of a recently announced ceasefire between India and Pakistan on May 10, following days of intense cross-border skirmishes and artillery exchanges that resulted in several casualties and infrastructural damage along the Line of Control (LoC).

Interaction With Army Personnel

Soon after his arrival, the Defence Minister visited the Army's 15 Corps Headquarters in Srinagar, where he interacted with Army personnel and was briefed on the prevailing security situation, officials said.
