Madhavi Latha has played an important role in the construction of Chenab Bridge. She is a professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. G Madhavi Latha, a rock engineering expert from the IISc Civil Engineering Department, has given nearly 17 years of her life to the construction of Chenab Bridge.

Latha guided the construction work of the bridge at the request of Afcons, the contractor of the Chenab bridge. She led the stabilization of the slope of the bridge and laying the foundation. She took charge as a project advisor during the construction of the bridge.
Initially, Madhavi Latha had another engineer from IISc as a project advisor with her, but after a few years he left the project, but Latha took over her responsibility till the completion of the construction of the bridge by the year 2022.
This bridge is 359 meters high from the river surface, which is higher than the Eiffel Tower. Its total cost is Rs 1,486 crore. This bridge built on the valley of Reasi district is considered to be the world's highest railway arch bridge. Its length is 1,315 meters and the main arch of steel is 467 meters long, which is a matter of admiration all over the world.
