Fire Incident

The massive blaze at Gulzar House resulted in the death of 17 people, including eight children. The fire reportedly broke out on the first floor of the building in the early hours of Sunday. Several individuals trapped inside were rescued by fire brigade personnel and rushed to Osmania General Hospital, Yashoda Hospital (Malakpet), and DRDO Apollo Hospital.

Police suspect that the fire broke out in the building due to an electrical short circuit.

Deceased Identified

Some of the deceased were identified. They include Rajendrakumar (67), Abhisekh Modee (30), Sumitra (65), Munnibai (72), Aarushi Jain (17), Seethal Jain (37), Eraj (2) and Harsly Gupata (7).

According to officials, the fire is believed to have originated from a short circuit and quickly spread to the cellar and first floor of the building. Prompt action by the fire brigade, which deployed eight fire engines, brought the blaze under control.

Sixteen people who were trapped inside the building during the fire were successfully rescued and shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Police confirmed that three children were among those injured in the incident.

People Tried To Extinguish Fire

Eyewitnesses said that at around 6 am, after seeing the thick smoke and flames, they raised an alarm and informed the fire department. But by the time help arrived, the fire had engulfed the building. People tried to extinguish the fire by pouring water from buckets, but the intensity of the fire was high.
