New Delhi: Amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday called for peace and urged that the war should end as soon as possible.

Speaking during the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting in Panipat, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said the organisation hopes the conflict ends quickly so that ordinary people can return to normal life, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

“We want peace in the world,” Hosabale said, stressing that the RSS believes in global harmony and stability.

‘World Peace Is Our Vision’

Hosabale said wars arise for many reasons, but the focus should remain on restoring peace. According to him, the suffering of common people must end and normal life should resume at the earliest.

However, he avoided commenting on the specific reasons behind the conflict.

Support for Centre’s Response

The RSS leader also expressed support for the approach taken by the Government of India in handling the crisis.

“What is in the supreme interest of the nation, they are doing that. What they are doing is right,” Hosabale said, backing the government’s actions as the situation in the Middle East continues to impact global energy supplies, trade routes and the safety of Indian citizens in the region.

Response to Protests Over Khamenei’s Killing

Responding to questions about protests in some parts of India following the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Hosabale said expressing grief after someone’s death is natural.

However, he stressed that any such expression should remain peaceful and must not disturb communal harmony. He added that, according to Indian tradition, hostility should end after a person’s death.

Comments on Muslims and Hindutva

Hosabale also addressed questions about the RSS’s ideology, saying that the organisation’s founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar did not establish the RSS to oppose Muslims.

He reiterated the Sangh’s long-held view that the ancestors of all Indians were Hindus and said the organisation aims to promote unity and social harmony.

RSS Expanding Its Reach

The meeting concluded with a push to expand organisational work across the country. According to Hosabale, the number of RSS shakhas has increased by nearly 6,000 in the past year, crossing 88,000 branches nationwide.

He added that the organisation has expanded its outreach to remote regions including Andaman, Arunachal Pradesh, Leh and tribal areas, and plans to hold 96 training camps in the coming year.
