New Delhi: The growing number of attacks by stray dogs in Delhi-NCR has prompted the Supreme Court to take a firm stance. Catching stray dogs and placing them in secure shelters is the courts directive for Delhi Noida Ghaziabad and the entire NCR. For the dogs to be taken off the roads and transported elsewhere the MCD and NDMC in Delhi have been asked to begin the drive right away.

Action Against Who Obstruct The Process

Strict action will be taken against any individual or organization that obstructs the process the Supreme Court warned. The court stated unequivocally that during this campaign no ones feelings should be offended. The streets have to be made completely free of stray dogs the court declared adding that all extraordinary measures must currently be taken to ensure the safety of women, seniors and children as well as to prevent the threat of rabies.

The court stated that the goal at this time is to eradicate all stray dogs from the streets even though it denied the adoption. The Supreme Court mandated that all NCR municipal entities prepare dog shelters and submit an infrastructure report within eight weeks.

Entire Procedure Will Be Monitored

In order to sterilize captured dogs sufficient personnel should be assigned and plans should be put in place to guarantee that they are not returned to public areas. CCTV cameras will keep an eye on the entire procedure. Over the next six weeks Delhi MCD NDMC Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority have been given the goal of catching 5000 stray dogs particularly from crowded and sensitive areas.

Additionally the officials have been directed to organize specialized forces for this task. The court made it apparent that no compromise would be acceptable and this should be the first and most important step. Any individual or organization that interferes with the capture or collection of dogs will face contempt.

The Supreme Court swift action highlights the pressing need to address stray dog-related public safety issues in Delhi-NCR. The court seeks to restore safe and secure public areas for all citizens by requiring city officials to work together and placing a strong emphasis on rigorous enforcement.
