IMD alert heavy rain for 46 districts
Lucknow: Monsoon is fully active in UP. Rain has wreaked havoc in 17 districts adjoining rivers in the state. Nine deaths occurred due to rain in different districts on Sunday. On Monday morning, two teenage girls died due to wall collapse in Sitapur district. If we add this number, then 11 deaths have occurred due to rain in the state in 24 hours. In view of heavy rain, holiday has been declared in many schools of the state including the capital Lucknow.
17 districts in the grip of flood

Currently, 17 districts of the state are affected by floods. 37 tehsils and 402 villages of these districts are affected by floods.
The flood affected districts include Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra, Auraiya, Chitrakoot, Ballia, Banda, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Etawah and Fatehpur. Relief work is going on in full swing in all these districts. At the same time, NDRF, SDRF and PAC personnel are patrolling round the clock.
Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that a total of 84392 people are affected in 17 districts, out of which 47906 people have been given relief material. Due to the flood, 2759 cattle have been shifted to a safe place. So far, houses of 343 people have been damaged due to the flood. Out of these, 327 people have received assistance.
More than 4015 hectares of area in the state has been affected by floods. Relief material is being delivered to these affected areas with the help of 493 boats and motorboats. So far 6536 food packets and 76632 lunch packets have been distributed in these areas. Food is being provided to the victims through 29 langars.

Rain alert in 46 districts today
Monsoon is fully effective in UP. For today, an orange alert for heavy rain has been issued in 15 districts of the Terai and Agra division of the state. There is a yellow alert for heavy rain in 31 other districts and there is a possibility of lightning with thunder in 64 districts. Senior scientist of Regional Meteorological Center Lucknow, Atul Kumar Singh said that the monsoon trough line is still towards the Terai areas of the state. There is a possibility of heavy rain in the Terai and Agra region today.
Yesterday, on Sunday, good rain was seen in various areas including Terai, Purvanchal. Waterlogging has occurred in many districts of Terai. Lakhimpur Kheri and Bhadohi recorded the highest rainfall of 120 mm. At the same time, 110 mm rain was recorded in Chitrakoot and Pratapgarh, 100 mm in Aligarh, 90 mm in Varanasi, Ballia, Prayagraj, Mirzapur. On Sunday late evening, Gonda, Bahraich, Sitapur, Barabanki received light to moderate rains.

In Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun and surrounding areas.
Here is the yellow alert for heavy rains
In Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Maharajganj, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Ayodhya, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Jalaun and surrounding areas.
Holiday in many districts including Lucknow
Due to heavy rains in Lucknow since Sunday, holiday has been declared in all board schools from class 1 to 12. This holiday has been declared by District School Inspector Rakesh Pandey. He has clearly said that the children who have been sent to school should be called back. Due to the delay in the order, children of many schools had left. It is known that it was raining continuously in Lucknow since Sunday.
Holiday declared in other districts too
Apart from Lucknow, holiday has been declared in Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Bahraich and Ambedkar Nagar too. In the letter issued by the DM, it has been said that this order should be strictly followed.
