UP: JP Nadda arrives in KGMU 21st Convocation Ceremony; Emphasises India health vision

Lucknow: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda arrived in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday. ​​He was warmly welcomed by senior party leaders and workers upon his arrival at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. Considerable enthusiasm was evident among BJP leaders and supporters during his arrival.

Participation in KGMU's 21st Convocation Ceremony

During his visit to Lucknow, JP Nadda will attend the 21st convocation ceremony of King George's Medical University (KGMU). This ceremony is considered a significant event in the field of medical education and healthcare services. Degrees will be awarded to students at the event, and those who have made outstanding contributions to the medical field will be honored.

Presence of Senior Leaders

Several senior leaders and dignitaries, including Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Union Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary, and BJP MLA Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, will be present at the convocation ceremony. Extensive preparations have been made on the university campus for the event.

Nadda Speaks on India's Health Model at WHO Summit

Before arriving in Lucknow on Friday, JP Nadda addressed the WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine. During his address, he highlighted India's holistic health model. Nadda stated that India is moving forward by integrating traditional medicine practices with modern technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Health Policy Changed After 2017

JP Nadda explained that earlier, India's health policy was primarily limited to treating diseases. He said, "Previously, the thinking was that you could live your life however you wanted, and medicine would fix everything. But under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the health policy was made holistic after 2017."

Emphasis on Prevention and Health Promotion

According to Nadda, the new health policy gives equal importance to disease prevention, health promotion, treatment, geriatric care, and integrative medicine. He said that an evidence-based repository is being created by sharing experiences from various countries, which will benefit not only India but the entire world. India's model is an example for the world.

The Union Minister also stated that India's integrative and holistic health model is being adopted globally. This blend of traditional medicine and modern science will play a crucial role in addressing future health challenges.
