New Delhi: Former Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Before him, Preeti Sudan was the chairman of UPSC. UPSC, which conducts important examinations like Civil Services and NDA, has gotten a new chairman.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, Ajay Kumar's name is included in many important decisions and new policies of the country. Ajay Kumar's name has come up as the new chairman of UPSC. Its notification was issued on Wednesday, May 14. Before Ajay Kumar, Preeti Sudan was the chairman of UPSC. Preeti Sudan's tenure ended on 29 April 2025.
Who is the new chairman of UPSC?
UPSC's new chairman, Ajay Kumar, is a 1985 batch IAS officer. He is an IAS officer of the Kerala cadre. Ajay Kumar has been the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence. During his tenure in the Ministry of Défense, he played a role in many important defence reforms.
