On the opposition opposing this bill and calling it unconstitutional, Shah said that the government has adopted a democratic and inclusive approach by sending it to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).

The JPC is a transparent process where all parties will get full opportunity to put forth their views. He urged the opposition to participate in the process but also made it clear that if the opposition boycotts the JPC, the government will have no choice but to proceed based on the committee's findings.
