New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big decision to withdraw from the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. India will not participate in this prestigious tournament, held every two years. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has also been informed about this decision. This move of BCCI will not only affect the tournament but will also have a deep impact on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its World Cup preparations.

According to the correspondent of Dynamite News, the Asia Cup 2025 is proposed to be held in Pakistan. However, India had already refused to play in Pakistan, citing security and political reasons. In such a situation, BCCI's decision to completely withdraw from the tournament makes the issue more complicated.

PCB Official Statement

A senior PCB official told the media that this tournament is very important for Pakistan, as it is a qualifying tournament for the Men's Hockey World Cup 2026 to be held in the Netherlands and Belgium next year. If Pakistan does not play in this tournament, or the tournament does not take place at all, then its chances of qualifying for the World Cup will be almost over.

At the center of this entire controversy is Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also currently the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). According to reports, the BCCI is also feeling uncomfortable with Mohsin Naqvi's presidency and for this reason it has decided to separate itself from the tournament.

India's Absence Will Cost Pak

This move of BCCI has put the organization of the Asia Cup in trouble. India's absence will not only affect the competitiveness of the tournament, but will also have a negative impact on its commercial value and broadcasting rights. India-Pakistan matches are considered to be the most watched matches among cricket lovers, and the absence of such matches can also lead to a drop in the interest of the viewers. Now it will be interesting to see how the Asian Cricket Council deals with this situation.
