Chaos erupted at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium after Lionel Messi left the venue earlier than expected. Angry fans, disappointed by the short appearance, began throwing chairs and bottles, leading to a tense situation inside the stadium.

Kolkata: Lionel Messi has arrived in India for the G.O.A.T. tour. He arrived in Kolkata today and visited the Salt Lake Stadium. After taking a lap of honor, he quickly left the stadium. Following this, fans at the Salt Lake Stadium created a huge ruckus, throwing chairs and bottles. A video of the incident has surfaced. Thousands of fans had gathered to see Messi, and notably, they had paid exorbitant prices for tickets. Their anger stemmed from his quick departure from the stadium.
Angry reactions from fans have also emerged. One fan said, "This was a very disappointing incident. He only came for 10 minutes. All the leaders and ministers were around him. We couldn't see anything. He didn't take a single kick or penalty. They said they would bring Shah Rukh Khan too, but they didn't bring anyone. He came for 10 minutes and left. So much money, emotions, and time wasted. We couldn't see anything..." Another fan said, "There were only leaders and actors around Messi... So why did they call us? We got tickets worth ₹12,000, but we couldn't even see his face..."

Messi has left for the airport and will now depart for Hyderabad. Messi is also scheduled to participate in an exhibition match in Hyderabad. However, this entire incident raises questions about the administration and organizers. Despite the expensive tickets, fans only got to see Messi for 10 minutes, even though his program was supposed to start at 1:30 PM.

Fans also vandalized the stadium, even tearing down tents. Thousands of fans had gathered at the stadium. Uruguayan football legend Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul were also present with Messi. All three have now departed for Hyderabad. A Messi fan said, "We are very disappointed... My child was so excited to see him... I think this is a betrayal of the people. When Messi arrived, everyone surrounded him..."
Another fan said, "We spent so much money on this event, and the most important thing is that Messi came to this event, and what message did we give him...? The Sports Minister is taking pictures with Messi, and everyone is trying to control the crowd... I don't even know if Shah Rukh Khan was there or not... This is very embarrassing for both the event management and the government."
